Icicles from a previous year - we haven't had anything stick around here yet:-) |
I must be honest here, I haven't even started Christmas shopping. Well, I have bought 1 thing so far, but that is not even a drop in the bucket when there are 7 people and a dog in the family!!
- Shopping with points online. There is no cost to this. We have used Air Miles, Zeller points, PC Points etc...you know how many points can be collected?
- We usually try to start in the summertime. As things go on sale we will pick up a gift here and a gift there.
- Online shopping is nice too. Now that there is an abundance of "disposable" credit cards. The ones where you buy ahead of time and you can use them like a gift card. It makes online shopping less stressful for those of us who have experienced online money issues. You just have to make sure you order early enough for delivery.
- Oh, and if you do go shopping closer to the actual holiday, leave the kids at home, and take advantage of the extended shopping hours!! Some places are open 24 hours during the season.
These are a few of my tips, though I haven't really done any of them this year (it is hard juggling 2 adults working and taking care of the house and kids, let alone shopping!!)
This year, another neat option is the Empire Theatres ‘Give & Get’ program.
When you purchase $30 in Empire Theatres’ Gift Cards you’ll receive $30 in Empire Theatres Coupons –You could get creative and use these coupons as stocking stuffers too!
This offer is valid all the way up until Friday, December 24th, so for those of us who are frantically looking
for the last minute gifts on Christmas eve, know that you can still find something more decent then a pack of gum!! You can take advantage of this offer both in theaters and online.Full details on this amazing offer can be found here.
The coupons are valid in 2011; each coupon is valid for one month period. Again, the offer expires on December 24th, 2010. While quantities last. To purchase Empire gift cards and find out more about Empire Theatres locations & showtimes, visit them at Empire Theaters.
Feel free to spread the message on Twitter with the hashtag #EmpireGiveGet
What are some tips that you may have for tackling holiday shopping?
Disclosure - I am participating in the Empire ‘Give & Get’ program by Mom Central on behalf of Empire Theatres. I received an Empire gift card and coupon bundle as a thank you for my participation. The opinions on this blog are my own.
I saw this the other night when we were all at the theatre, what a great deal!
